HOW COACHING WORKS |
What is a
success coach?
Your success coach is your ally, guide, and life strategist. Your
success coach is someone who listens very well, really hears what you say, wants you to
succeed at reaching your specific goals, is constructive, makes requests,
endorses you and helps you stay focused.
Your success
coach gives you feedback, pointing out more effective strategies and
techniques to help you increase your
performance, and challenges you to reach your full
potential.
What does a
coach do?
Your success coach
helps you discover what you really love to do and then suggests different
ways that you can setup your life so you're just doing stuff that you
love. Your success coach may ask you clarifying questions and make
empowering requests designed to nudge you to take action. Your
success coach may share educational information and remind you to live to
your full potential. Your success coach may include brainstorming
and other techniques to help you achieve your specific goals.
Why do I need a
coach?
No matter how
successful we are in life, we all need a coach to encourage us. Someone on the outside to give us
feedback, to trigger us to take action and to remind us to live to our
full potential.

How to get
started
You start by answering the written
questions that I will e-mail you. It will
normally takes 30 to 45 minutes to
complete. This will assist me in finding
out where you are in life. Then we will schedule
a free coaching session over the phone to see if
we are a match.
Here are some benefits of success
coaching:
-
You will get precisely clear
on
what you want in your life, mentally,
emotionally, socially, spiritually,
intellectually and financially.
-
You will take a few small steps each day
to enhance your relationships, discover and
change your limiting beliefs, take action to
make more money, set and achieve goals that are
right for you and produce the quality of life
you want.
I am committed to making sure you get
measurable results from my success
coaching.
All that is required from you
is:
1. Desire on your part.
2. The commitment to follow through
and do the exercises you are given as simple or
as complicated as it may seem at the
moment.
3. That you will be
honest with yourself and me during all
sessions.
4. You must be willing and ready
to honestly answer questions raised about your
goals, motivation, and behavior.
5. Try new approaches and practice new
behaviors. If you always do what you have
always done, you will always get
what you have always gotten. Things
won't improve until you improve.
6. Give me ongoing feedback on whether
the coaching is meeting your needs.
7. Keep an open mind and
listen to my feedback and let me know whether or
not it is working for you.
8. Be responsible and take ownership for
your choices in life.
9. Be a smart, mature and capable person
that wants support in articulating and achieving
your goals. |

How Is a Coach Different From a Mentor?
A Mentor is interested
in helping the individually informally deal with
life’s experiences at their own pace. The mentor
is there to support and nurture the individual in
pursuit of their career
A Coach sees the client’s potential and
will challenge them to achieve more than they may
have thought possible. The coach will stay with
the client for as long as they need to help the
individual achieve their personal goals.
Coaching vs.
Therapy
Counseling is more about how the past
affects the present.
Coaching is not
advice-giving, psychotherapy or counseling. I
will be happy to refer you to a therapist
or another trained professional if that is
what you need.
Coaching is for the present and
getting you to take action now so your future is
rich with positive results. Coaching begins with the understanding
that you are responsible for creating your own
decisions and results in
life.
Coaches, like therapists, ask stimulating,
open-ended questions that open doors, and
encourage you to think of your life in new ways.
But in therapy, a power differential always exists
between therapist and client. In coaching, coach
and client work together, as colleagues, to find
creative solutions. There are other important
differences as well:
- Therapists don’t give direct advice;
coaches do.
- Therapists need to maintain “distance”;
coaches become fully engaged in the process of
change.
- Therapy takes place in the context of
time-limited appointments; coaching takes
place any time, anywhere, at your convenience.
- Therapy uncovers the past and unconscious
thought; coaching concentrates on the present
and future, and on conscious decisions.
- Therapy's goal is to uncover patterns;
coaching's goal is to find solutions - as
quickly as possible.
Best of all, coaching can be done right from
your home. If you have a telephone and a computer,
you can have your own personal coach.
