Call a speaker's past clients. Ask those meeting planners the
"SEVEN MAGIC QUESTIONS."

1. Was the speaker's material relevant and loaded with useful content?
2. Did the speaker use appropriate humor that added value to the message?
3. Was the speaker easy to work with; did he/she respect your deadlines?
4. Did the speaker use visuals and handouts; were they sharp and easy to understand?
5. Did the speaker "customize" the presentation using information they requested and you provided to them?
6. Did you receive the "value you expected" for the money you paid?

and the ultimate question ....

7. WOULD YOU ASK THE SPEAKER BACK?

If a speaker did the presentation "exactly right," the clients should be able to answer "YES" to these questions.
